For our HSEQ Department at our office in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for a Safety Engineer (m/f/x).
Fluxys Belgium analyses and manages risks linked to the development and operation of its installations and processes. Today, we are laying the groundwork for modifying our infrastructures and processes for the transmission and storage of energy carriers other than natural gas and CO2. The Safety team at our HSEQ Department analyses and assesses the risks to our installations and their environment.
Job
purpose
As a safety expert in our company, you will be responsible for drafting guidelines and providing advice on industrial safety, with a focus on process safety. In the context of the energy transition, your area of expertise will include natural gas as well as other substances, such as hydrogen and carbon dioxide. In addition, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the physical security of our facilities.

Your
responsibilities
- You will carry out risk analyses, including quantitative and qualitative approaches, for transmission pipelines and other infrastructure
- You will evaluate the impact and consequences of specific scenarios using calculation models and specialised software
- You will supervise safety studies and risk analyses carried out by third parties on behalf of our company
- You will actively take part in national and international working groups
- You will monitor the implementation of security measures on multiple sites and propose corrective measures if necessary
- You will contribute to the development of effective security plans
- You will provide advice on finding security solutions and choosing specific technologies and equipment
About
you

- You have a master's degree in industrial sciences, engineering sciences or bioengineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience in process safety would be a plus
- You are capable of working on technical issues and proactively finding solutions
- You are assertive, you work meticulously and you have initiative and a strong desire to solve problems
- You have an excellent command of Dutch as well as a working knowledge of French and English. You are prepared, if necessary, to move to a higher level in the short term
