For our Infrastructure Projects department at our office in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for a Projects Material Engineer (m/f/x).
The Infrastructure Projects Department manages all infrastructure projects involving Fluxys' grid in Belgium. To support these projects, the Projects Material Department optimises and ensures the availability of materials, taking into account quality, traceability and compliance with legal requirements and applicable standards.

Participating in Fluxys' growth through optimal and compliant management of the materials needed for the development of projects
Your
responsibilities
- You will travel abroad to audit suppliers in order to ensure they meet Fluxys quality standards
- You will check whether suppliers comply with Belgian regulatory practices, such as manufacturing processes, traceability and health and safety measures
- You will serve as an interface between our suppliers, our internal customers and the inspection body in order to guarantee that the equipment supplied complies with Fluxys specifications. To this end, you will be responsible for:
- Resolving and monitoring technical issues related to the material production process in collaboration with the inspection body and the various Fluxys departments
- Providing technical consultancy on tendering and production for standard materials
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers in collaboration with buyers
- You will be responsible for managing inventories of materials
- You will proactively analyse the supply proposals and will manage the process of purchasing equipment in order to optimise availability
- You will manage data relating to new materials and will proactively analyse replacement products in consultation with the relevant departments
About
you

- A master's degree in engineering (specialising in electromechanics, metallurgy, mechanical engineering or International Welding Engineer). A master’s degree in welding engineering would be a must
- Initial professional experience in an industrial environment or in the energy industry would be a plus
- A strong interest in materials technology used in the industrial sector (petrochemicals, piping, boilermaking)
- An ability to think critically, a logical approach and a meticulous and precise approach to your work
- True team spirit enabling you to forge links between the various departments
- Proactivity and the ability to solve problems and find solutions
- Excellent French, Dutch and English
- A good command of MS Office
Additionally, this role requires:
- A willingness to travel abroad
- A driving license
