For our office located in Essen (see the map), we are looking for a Project Manager Gas Network (m/f/x).

Job
purpose

As a Project Manager Gas Network, you will make a decisive contribution to a sustainable energy supply by both ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our existing assets and actively contributing to the development of the infrastructure for a climate-neutral energy word. This involves ensuring excellent quality of work on and off-site, as well as accurate time and cost management for our technical projects in Germany.

Your
respon-
sibilities

For projects executed by third party service providers, you will take the lead for the following tasks

  • You will challenge technical concepts, schedules, bids, budgets etc. and provide efficient alternatives with a focus on the Fluxys Group's corporate strategy
  • You will prepare information required for internal approval processes
  • You will actively participate actively on behalf of Fluxys in project steering committees to manage the project with our partner(s) and ensure that Fluxys' position is defended
  • You will report on the projects to the Fluxys management

For projects led or co-led by Fluxys, you will play a key role for the following tasks.

  • You will control the interface management during the engineering, procurement and construction phase
  • You will prepare and propose efficient technical concepts, schedules, strategies, etc. to our partner(s) and develop alternatives if required
  • You will forecast the project budget on an ongoing basis; prepare, review and propose realistic quotations and budgets for project tasks to our partner(s)
  • You will prepare information required for internal and external approval processes
  • You will actively lead project steering committees

You will also be responsible for monitoring, analysing and reporting on services provided through third party service contracts for operations and OPEX projects (including HSE). Moreover, you will participate in energy industry committees and promote future topics such as the development of the hydrogen infrastructure in Germany.

About
you

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, civil engineering or equivalent
  • Ideally at least five years' experience as a project engineer
  • An out-of-the-box and innovative mindset allowing you to devise and propose optimal solutions for technical, operational and project-related problems
  • Open-mindedness and a holistic view that enables you to look beyond your own role and see business ideas in a wider context
  • A meticulous approach to your work, solution-oriented thinking and a desire to learn and develop further
  • Genuine team spirit and strong communication skills that will inspire others
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate adaptability to a complex and changing environment
  • Excellent language skills in German and English
  • A healthy dose of intellectual curiosity and a passion for technology and the energy transition
